It's your turn in the spotlight...
At Revu we understand that your dance portfolio images are an essential part of your self-presentation as an artist. Our bespoke portfolio sessions are an opportunity for us to work together to achieve compelling images that showcase your talent, exhibit your technical expertise, display and your passion for dance.
No one can show all their best moves in one dance audition, but with stunning shots of your perfect lines and elevation we will craft a permanent record of your versatility and skill.
Before your portfolio shoot we will contact you to discuss your specific requirements, in addition we advise you to read our useful guide to ensure that you get the very best from the session.
Our portfolio sessions are bespoke and as such it is impossible to be prescriptive about the type of images that we will capture. However, as a general guide most portfolios would contain both classical and modern dance poses, as well as something that breaks free from technical consideration allowing creative dance pose s with the goal of creating a unique piece of photographic art
Above all we want you to relax and enjoy your photo session so that your personality shines through and we capture great images that you love.
Guidelines....
Learning how to make the most of a portfolio photography session is a key skill for all dancers and we advise that you take a little time to prepare for our session Here are just a few tips that you may find useful.
-
Spend some time thinking about how you want to be photographed and what you want those images to communicate about you.
-
Collect examples of images that you like or would want to replicate.
-
Practice your best poses in the mirror and preferably show these to your fellow dancers/ teachers. This helps to determine what works best for you and what you may want to bring to the session.
-
We find many dancers adapt moves from their dance routines to find the poses that best reflect their style and expertise.
-
Please feel free to bring someone with you during the session to help you make tweaks to your poses and to make sure that your technique is as close to perfect as you can make it
-
Try and think about your lines and your strengths as an artist, and be ready to be playful and imaginative, this is a bout you!
-
Keep smiling! We see are Portfolio sessions as a collaboration and while it is possible that your very first attempt leads to a great image, it is much more likely that we will take many shots to get the best possible image.
